I'm excited to share with you that I've been designing and making jewellery, something I haven't done for about 8 years. I've been so inspired by my Dad's recent craft work - he's been making amazing table decorations out of carved wood and dried flowers (visit his website here) - and I really wanted to somehow make jewellery using the dried flowers. Due to the delicate nature of the dried flowers I came up with the idea to house them in tiny glass bottles and then attach them to silver chains.
I'm loving being back home in Shropshire and feeling so nourished by the english countryside and I wanted to create a way of carrying nature around with you as a reminder to stay connected to the earth in this fast paced busy world.
Here is the documentation of my creative process from the sketches through to completion. I only received the silver chains this morning so I only have one made so far. My intention is try these out at a local craft stall in Shropshire in a few weeks and if they go well I will start selling them in my Etsy store.
Hope you enjoy xo
