I'm having a lovely relaxing Saturday so far, I've read the new Vogue whilst in a very bubbly bath and am now drinking coffee and looking for inspiration on PInterest. Here are some of the highlights of what I've found today. First up is the adorable work of Rebecca Jones. I am particularly taken by the work of Hajin Bae (below)
I've been really enjoying drawing the amazing girls that I come across on Pinterest, I love the way they style themselves and all the different postures. Think this lass is my new fave :)
Ok, so if I was a character from Once Upon a Time (not that I've thought about it) this would be what the living room would look like in my Storybrooke apartment. Click here to find out where you can shop the items :) Happy day dreaming! XO
After drooling over hair images on Pinterest of girls with my little pony coloured hair for the best part of 2 years, I have finally plucked up the courage to DIY pastel dye my hair :/ And it turned out ok :)
I had planned on saving up and going to a posh salon to get it done as bleaching your hair is not for the faint hearted. However, I was having a mooch in Boots and what should I discover? Bleach London have created a hair dye range for creating pastel locks and for a fraction of the cost of a salon visit. I was able to get total bleach, white toner and violet dye for about 14 quid - delighted with my purchases I rushed home to get on with it. Here's some pics of how it went and the finished product. If you're considering dying your hair at home, do your research - I trained as a hairdresser so I felt confident to do it by myself but bleaching hair can go very wrong - especially if left on too long, hair can snap off. The instructions in these products are fantastic but it may also help to google about bleaching hair to get some extra tips. Ok, off to see if Blondes do have more fun ;) Combining two of my great loves - Polyvore and Once Upon a Time - here is my Mary Margaret mood board. I really love her style and her apartment, if you haven't had a play on Polyvore yet, what are you waiting for! :)
I've recently re discovered my love for comic books. When I was a teenager I was such a comic book geek and I would spend hours copying the drawings from them, probably much to the horror of my school art teacher when my finished art pieces were of scantily clad large breasted women warriors ;) I have always enjoyed being somewhat controversial. For some reason or other I stopped reading them so much, I still always kept up to date with all the marvel films and would often pop in to comic book stores to have a browse. But a few weeks ago I was going through a very difficult time with my health and have had to be off work resting and therefore looking for things to entertain my self with whilst lying on the sofa. My incredibly kind brother-in-law-to-be took me out to a comic book store one Saturday afternoon as he is also a fan and we spent ages in there browsing and it was very healing for me to connect back to my younger self. I stumbled upon a copy of a Spiderverse convergence comic where all the Spidermen and Spiderwomen from all the realms and times join together to take on evil (standard) I fell in love with it and decided to make my first comic book purchase in years.
I read the whole thing cover to cover in one sitting and thoroughly enjoyed it. I've discovered Silk and Gwen Stacey and am now on a mission to buy their stories. This weekend I popped in to another comic store in Shrewsbury, it was supposed to be a girly day out clothes shopping with my mom and sister but I couldn't resist popping in and they didn't seem to mind. I found a copy of Silk and then my Mom, who's a legend, found a series of comics I hadn't come across yet. It's called Fables and it's a similar concept to Once Upon a Time Tv series, of which me, my mom and sister are huge fans. I purchased #issue 2 of Fables and couldn't wait to get it home to read. And once again I read the whole thing cover to cover. I managed to find #issue 2 on ebay so I eagerly await it's arrival in the post. What's your favourite comic? A little while ago I shared with you my handmade jewellery I'd been making. After getting my very talented Dad to photograph the pieces, they are now available to purchase online in my Etsy store. I really love these necklaces and the concept behind them and hope they find themselves in good homes. Click here to visit my Etsy store.
