I was so inspired by the runway collections the other day that I thought it would fun to have a go drawing some of the looks from Gucci. I love the geeky vibe mixed with the sexy sheer fabrics - not sure I'm brave enough to go out in a sheer vest top, in fact I'm pretty definite I'm not but it was fun to draw :)
Yesterday I spent the rainy afternoon happily crafting pressed flower artworks for a set of gift cards to sell at the Farmers Markets this weekend. I really enjoyed the process of coming up with girls to suit the flowers and I'm really pleased with how they've turned out. Also, because they are individually hand painted and I don't want to charge a fortune for them, I couldn't spend too long on each one so it was a challenge for me to not be a perfectionist. Big thank you to my Dad for kindly giving me access to his pressed flower supply :)
I have spent a few hours this afternoon drooling over the Runway looks for Fall 2015. Here are a few of my favourite looks.....sigh! Prada Fall 2015 Geek chic at Gucci (below) Metallics at Christopher Kane It's all in the detail at Alexander McQueen
I'm having a lovely relaxing Saturday so far, I've read the new Vogue whilst in a very bubbly bath and am now drinking coffee and looking for inspiration on PInterest. Here are some of the highlights of what I've found today. First up is the adorable work of Rebecca Jones. I am particularly taken by the work of Hajin Bae (below)
I've been really enjoying drawing the amazing girls that I come across on Pinterest, I love the way they style themselves and all the different postures. Think this lass is my new fave :)
Ok, so if I was a character from Once Upon a Time (not that I've thought about it) this would be what the living room would look like in my Storybrooke apartment. Click here to find out where you can shop the items :) Happy day dreaming! XO
After drooling over hair images on Pinterest of girls with my little pony coloured hair for the best part of 2 years, I have finally plucked up the courage to DIY pastel dye my hair :/ And it turned out ok :)
I had planned on saving up and going to a posh salon to get it done as bleaching your hair is not for the faint hearted. However, I was having a mooch in Boots and what should I discover? Bleach London have created a hair dye range for creating pastel locks and for a fraction of the cost of a salon visit. I was able to get total bleach, white toner and violet dye for about 14 quid - delighted with my purchases I rushed home to get on with it. Here's some pics of how it went and the finished product. If you're considering dying your hair at home, do your research - I trained as a hairdresser so I felt confident to do it by myself but bleaching hair can go very wrong - especially if left on too long, hair can snap off. The instructions in these products are fantastic but it may also help to google about bleaching hair to get some extra tips. Ok, off to see if Blondes do have more fun ;) Combining two of my great loves - Polyvore and Once Upon a Time - here is my Mary Margaret mood board. I really love her style and her apartment, if you haven't had a play on Polyvore yet, what are you waiting for! :)
