This has been one of my favourite commissions to work on - an interactive children's book/journal. I won't say too much more about it until it's released but it's been a dream of mine for years to illustrate a children's book so I am thrilled to have been able to work on this. I'm just in the process of adding colour to the black and white illustrations that I'd finished a few months back and it's lovely to see the pieces really coming alive now they're coloured in.
Inspired by a few bright and kitschy things that have caught my eye recently. Obviously want to own all of these things :)
tights: asos jewellery: https://www.etsy.com/au/shop/BooandBooFactory shoes: https://www.etsy.com/au/shop/TamarShalem Today I finished the last two illustrations to go in my Zodiac series. Now that all the illustrations are complete it means that I've been able to make them in to a calendar for 2015 which is now for sale on redbubble.com It feels so good to have completed this project after such a long time. I'm sure other people can relate to this - I find it really hard to complete personal projects so this is a big accomplishment for me. It's weird, if it's a commission for someone else I'll always meet the deadline (or as close to it as I can get) but if it's for myself I don't have the same discipline. I'm taking this opportunity to reflect on the last couple of months and feel really proud that I've been motivated and energised - I've made a website, started a blog and completed a project. Hurrah!!
What's next? Hippies in the City 2 and finishing a children's book....better get some sleep then :) Here's Aries :)
Just finished her tonight and now I only have two more to go. Pisces and Cancer are in progress and should be finished in the next couple of days which means.....the set will be complete and will have finished my Zodiac Project. Big smiles!!! I'm selling some of my original signed illustrations in my Etsy store...just in time for Christmas :)
Am totally onboard with this new trend, cannot wait to get my hands on some of these flash tattoos. Am still searching for the perfect one to wear down my spine, am thinking that teamed with a backless dress could be a pretty rocking NYE outfit :)
It's the little things in life that warm your heart and make you smile.
Like when your toes match the flowers in your garden. Meeting moths with amazing outfits. and soaking in a bath filled with rose petals and essential oils. Just finished this lovely lady this afternoon, really pleased with how she's turned out. So now I only have Aries, Pisces and Cancer left to finish :)
