I'm spending a couple of months at my folk's house in Shropshire for a much needed break and to spend some quality time with my family after being in Australia for 9 years. Here's a few snaps from my week so far. The town where my parent's live happens to have some of the best charity shops in the UK (I believe). I went out with my Dad the other day to have a good rummage through the shops and I found these amazing leopard print boots for 3 pounds. They just so happened to be my size, so they came home with me :) I've also been enjoying How to Be Parisian in the mornings with a cup of tea and my brekkie, it's a really fun read with beautiful photography. Another favourite is Country Living magazine with a smoothie and oatbran pancake. Picked up this beautiful bunch of flowers from the local market yesterday to brighten up my room and celebrate that spring is on the way :)
A few blog posts ago I was remembering a time when I used to draw more just for fun and I set out to make that a habit again. Well, I'm pleased to say that last week, this started to happen. I've been making time most evenings to do some fun, light and unpolished fashion sketches. This one that I did tonight didn't even get fine lined in black ink which is unheard of for me. I'm hoping this new habit continues, it's a lovely way to unwind in the evenings and also to experiment with my style.
xx I took a trip to Castle Howard on the weekend, an amazing 18th century residence nestled in a 1000 acres of lush english landscape. It's also the place that Brideshead Revisted was filmed, am super keen to watch the rest of the series now as I only got as far as episode one. Here are a few snaps from the day, I restrained myself from posting millions of photos :)
xx I've been collecting images of pretty pastel lasses on Pinterest for a little while now with a view to one day draw them. I finally got round to doing a little drawing of one the other night, here she is.
xx Here's some more snaps from my time up here in Yorkshire. Another new favourite thing to do is to visit English seaside towns in the off season, you get all the delightfully English things without the crowds, and let's face it, it never gets that hot anyway :p These cute pics were taken in Whitby, a delightful seaside town that is well worth checking out! Enjoy xx
As I mentioned in a previous post, I'm currently living in a Buddhist Retreat Centre which just so happens to be a converted Georgian Mansion. The house is absolutely stunning and one of my new favourite things to do is finding cute parts of the house to photograph for my Instagram account. Here are a few of the detail shots I've been taking, hope you enjoy xxx
